Why is it a winner?

While “Toasted granola” sounds like a fairly mundane kind of dish, at Grain Store, a homey refuge from the hustle and bustle of the CBD, it is an artful tour de force. Mango yoghurt, berry smoothie, apple, lime and pistachio are combined with a poached pear, flaked almonds, panna cotta and the crunchiest of granola to make this a superb way to start the day. It’s all texture and flavour and while it looks super instagrammable, it is that rare thing, something of style and substance. We say let’s start the day like this every day!

Grain Store does an exceptional brunch menu on the weekends, which includes dishes like lobster benedict, summer carbonara and blue swimmer crab chilli scrambled. Combined with some exceptional cocktails – the Melbourne spritz is made up of Aperol, prosecco, orange and soda and should be our city’s official drink – this is the place to do the morning weekend meal in serious style.
