If you head over the road to No Mans Grace you will be enjoying an impeccable dining experience with your mum. The decor is contemporary but comfortable with plenty of choice when it comes to drinks in the evening. The menu is comprised of either A La Carte or the much loved tasting menu, allowing those with foodie mums to really flex their muscles when it comes to treating her. If you want to score extra points, let her have the paired wine flight and offer to drive her home for once.

If you have fond memories of mums sunday roasts and want to repay the favour, you should take her to The Kensington Arms for a slap up lunch. Whilst nothing can ever come close to your mums efforts, The “Kenny” might come a close second with crisp pork belly, mouthwatering beef or exciting veggie options to tempt anyone. The dining area has the charm of a country pub and an open kitchen so mum can keep her eye on proceedings. We highly recommend starting with a signature Bloody Mary to really relax.

If your mum is in Bristol to visit, it seems rude to not show the city in it’s best light, so perhaps dinner with a beautiful harbour view might be in order? Severn Shed can do just this and more, with a tasty, unfussy menu and plenty of cocktails for those with mums that like a tipple or two. Make sure you request a window seat for the full harbour at night experience.

For a mums that claim they don’t want a fuss, you should take her to The Wellington. This traditional looking pub is hiding a rather fine restaurant behind the bar serving up all your pub grub favourites but with enough of a gastro twist to make dinner really special. Choose from some impressive starters and mains and make sure you leave room for dessert. If your mum has had to come to visit, book her into one of the beautiful rooms above the pub so she can enjoy the complimentary breakfast the next morning too and pat yourself on the back for a job well done.
