Folk Didsbury is a cosy neighbourhood bar and kitchen known for its friendly atmosphere and a menu featuring fresh, seasonal produce. We simply love their crispy Korean chicken, found under their ‘small plates’ section of the menu. You’re in for crispy Korean buttermilk fried chicken thigh with red chilli, spring onion, gochujang glaze, and kimchi mayo for dipping. It’s an ideal spot for casual dining and enjoying a relaxed meal with friends or family, whether you’re popping in for a coffee or hanging out for a couple of pints.

If you’re in Manchester and you want chicken, but also fancy pushing the boat out, you should try Korean fried chicken. There is no place better to go for Korean fried chicken than this gem! Definitely worth visiting if you want fried chicken with a difference.

Brewdog Manchester Outpost
cuisinesBeer, Pub

This Brewdog establishment, the Outpost, which only opened in 2019 is already a favourite of students and professionals. This is because it’s on the University of Manchester campus as part of the new business school complex, therefore it’s in prime location for everyone based in and around Oxford Road – the busiest bus network in Europe incidentally! The Outpost has a massive space upstairs, good hygiene measures and friendly staff. Not only is the Outpost in a prime location, the beer specialists also have incredible chicken dishes, such as their buffalo chicken wings, which are a must try.

From this award-winning bar and restaurant comes some of our favourite chicken wings in Manchester. The Jumbo 3 Bone Chicken Wings Smoked For 3 Hours are honestly quite incredible. You can buy three for just £4 or six for £7. Choose from your sauce to dip into as well, with favourites including Bourbon Gravy, House BBQ and Louisiana Hot, and the more obscure such as Dr Pepper. Located slap bang in the Northern Quarter, this giant gem is spread across three floors with ribs, rum, beers and bourbon also their specialties.

Sitting between Fallowfield and Withington, Allen’s Fried Chicken is a favourite of students of all ages. It might not be the classiest establishment on the list, but it certainly has some of the best quality chicken in Manchester, especially for the prices. It’s in a great location for locals and students who fancy impromptu fried chicken or for those who are in the area. They also have other shops in Manchester too.

The George Charles in Didsbury is a unique pan-Asian gastropub known for its fusion of a traditional pub atmosphere with modern Asian cuisine. The gastropub also serves up a variety of sushi and street food dishes from their in-house restaurant, Unagi, as well as all your favourite tipples and draughts in a traditional English pub. Their karaage chicken is our top pick on the menu, served with sweet chilli mayo and aonori. Or if you’re after something a bit heartier, their Katsu chicken burger is the way to go, plated up in a bun with a Katsu chicken thigh, streaky bacon, cheddar cheese, coleslaw, BBQ sauce, topped with Unagi’s ‘Bang Bang’ Wings, and a side of hot chips.
