Longboards Laidback Eatery and Bar
cuisinesBurgers, Bar

You gotta love Longboards’ menu – the titles are killer and there’s lots to choose from.

Sometimes all you need is a basic burger. Say hello to the Budgie Smuggler – Wagyu beef patty, lettuce, onions, tomato plus what every decent burger should have: beetroot. Australian much?

For the vegan burger lovers, there’s Captain Planet, a plant-based burger with vegan cheese, pickles and onions on a vegan mylk bun.

Prefer chook on your bun? The Hiensenburger has buttermilk chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese, and the usual greenery with, wait for it, a crispy fried chicken wing.

If you’re feeling brave, take on an epic burger – the Phat burger is 600 grams of Wagyu beef patty, BBQ pulled pork, layers of bacon, onion rings, lettuce, and tomato, served with fries. Definitely not for the faint of heart!

Dish Cult’s top pick: Phat burger ($69)

Burgster
cuisinesBurgers

Burgster is a seriously hip place for beers and burgers on Palm Beach.

There’s an impressive menu of snacks to get you started, from Bubba Gump shrimp to arancini stuffed with chicken, mushrooms and cheese, but we’re here for the burgers!

But these are not your run-of-the-mill burgers. Go for the pork Cubano burger or the mushroom burger with Swiss cheese, pickles, lettuce, tomato and red onion, if you’re after something lighter.

Don’t know if burger aficionados will agree, but the tempura Moreton Bay bug sliders are difficult to pass up. You had us at bug!

If you’re carb phobic, all burgers can be served in a lettuce cup. Genius. Right? And they offer different ‘sizes’ in some burgers – so one patty or two or, yep, you got it, even three for the hangry person in your life.

Dish Cult’s top pick: Philly cheese burger – smoked brisket, Swiss cheese, American cheese, onion, jalapenos, chilli jam, onion rings, mustard, ketchup and mayo ($23)

St Helens Bar and Burgers
cuisinesBurgers, Bar

Don’t be fooled by the Coolangatta address, St Helens Bar and Burgers faces Kirra Beach so here you’ll get burgers with a spectacular view.

The cowboy steak burger has a generous Wagyu steak patty. Nuff said? Okay it comes with bacon, onion, cheese, lettuce and tomato too.

It’s not often you get a lamb burger but at St Helens it comes with dill and garlic mayo (yum), lettuce, tomato and onion. A great substitute for a Sunday roast hey?

Can’t settle for one? Then get the slider sampler – one Moreton Bay bug, one cheese and one rib burger. Cute as, excellent value and great for the kiddos too!

Dish Cult’s top pick: Slider sampler ($28)

Blueys Beer + Burgers
cuisinesBurgers, Bar

If you’re in the mood for a burger, doesn’t matter if it’s for breakfast or dinner, then head to Blueys.

The burger offerings include a ‘basic’ to which you can add bacon, egg, and/or beetroot. A burger without beetroot – why?

Maybe you’re in the mood for a chicken breast burger? Bluey’s comes topped with Swiss cheese, bacon and avocado.

For those with a sweet tooth, the pulled pork burger has grilled pineapple and apple coleslaw topped with smoky BBQ sauce.

Gluten free buns are available and all the burgers come with fries.

Dish Cult’s top pick: Brekky burger – bacon, two eggs, smashed avocado, spinach, cheese, potato hash and tomato relish ($19)

Eddie’s Grub House
cuisinesBurgers, Bar

If it’s burgers and rock ’n’ roll that you’re after, Eddie’s is the place to be.

The dive bar features a menu divided into beef, chicken and veggie burgers of the classic and not-so-classic variety.

Level up that cheeseburger by making it a three patty version, go for a Southern fried chicken burger or get in touch with your inner plant lover by choosing the whole shiitake burger which features a shiitake, chickpea and cashew patty.

Planning a party? Book the private back room for the night and you get a huge TV, music and a private bathroom.

Eddie’s is the perfect party pad, so what’s keeping you and your mates?

Dish Cult’s top pick: BBQ chicken slawter burger – Two Southern fried chicken tenders, bacon, cheese, coleslaw and boozy BBQ sauce ($23, single patty)
