London's must-visit hotel restaurants
Some of the city’s best restaurants can be found inside some of its top hotels. From boutique beauties to five-star legends, these hotels are home to some top-notch restaurants that should not be missed.
100 Queen’s Gate Hotel is a five-star boutique hotel situated in the heart of Kensington. The former home of Victorian aristocrat and explorer, William Alexander, the property is steeped in an eclectic and fascinating history. One of the main draws to this fantastic hotel, however, is W/A Kensington Restaurant & Bar.
Taking its name from the historic owner, it offers a modern touch to classic Belgian dishes. Highlights include house-made, light and fluffy
Belgian waffles, either as a dessert or as part of the incredibly innovative Waffle Burger (a delicious must try) for an unforgettable savoury option. The inspired menu is the brainchild of Executive Chef, Sofiane Kaced. He’s drawn on his 20 years of culinary experience and fond love of travelling to create a refined and delicious menu that will appeal to curious foodies.
One Hundred Shoreditch, East London’s newest hotel, is prominently located on Shoreditch High Street. The design led, independent hotel
offers a vibrant and social programme of events encompassing music, art, fashion, design and wellbeing. As well as being one of East London’s coolest hotels and most creative hubs, it’s also home to Goddard & Gibbs – a casual, all-day restaurant specialising in British seafood with a focus on ethical sourcing and local suppliers.
As well as an unmissable bottomless brunch, the set menu here boasts tasty treats such as Cider Steamed Mussels and a Pan Fried Pollock with Jersey Royals, Charred Cabbage and Seaweed Butter.
Embodying the creative spirit of the hotel, Wild Heart Bar & Shokudo offers a casual Japanese inspired dining experience for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and afternoon tea by three-time Michelin star chef Garry Hollihead. Guests here can enjoy a relaxed dinner in one of the intimate private booths, a quick lunch meeting, or a light bite and cocktail in the bar.
With a focus on locally sourced ingredients and seasonal produce, the innovative Japanese-street food dishes are best enjoyed as sharing plates complemented by the oriental cocktail list, sake menu, and diverse wine list.
The afternoon tea here is very special, as it’s got Japanese twist with aged Wagyu beef sliders and slow-cooked pork Hirata buns, as well as signature whiskey and Davidoff cigar pairing to finish!
From All Day Dining to a Market Menu, The Game Bird is a place to eat, drink and socialise, with the focus on modern British comfort cooking executed with style and panache. Look out for the Exmoor Caviar and Hot English Crumpets – a divine combo.
You can’t get more heavyweight than the name Marco Pierre White in the industry and here Marco has teamed up with New Road Hotel to launch his first ever chophouse in London.
Mr. White’s English Chophouse gives a nod to tradition and centres on everything that chophouses are famed for – meat and hearty portions. Using the finest quality, grass fed Campbell Brothers’ beef, you’ll find unmissable signature steaks and freshly ground beef burgers.
