The Perfect Places for a Feed on Flinders Lane...
It might only be a minor thoroughfare but Flinders Lane is one of Melbourne’s mecca for food, wine, art and fashion. Check out these three fabulous eateries on Flinders…
Cecconi’s is situated in a Flinders Lane basement, where they dish up plenty of eats from northern Italy in their classic yet modern dining room. Think elegant yet relaxed when you dine on Head Chef Sebastiano Pezzoli’s Venetian-inspired menu.
Their divine selection of antipasti includes freshly shucked oysters, mushroom and cheese arancini, and pork and veal stuffed olives.
If you love your meat, order some plates from Cecconi’s Affettati menu – aged prosciutto with buffalo mozzarella should hit the spot.
For first and second plate we suggest the smoked salmon with Jerusalem artichokes, followed by a breaded veal cutlet served with a crisp apple, cabbage, and parsley salad.
Pasta, salad dishes, and steak round out Cecconi’s menu, which ends with some classic Italian desserts. We love the hazelnut semifreddo with chocolate and bitter orange.
Make sure you don’t eat for at least a few days before going to Cecconi’s – there are just too many delectable dishes to settle on just one or two!
