Kahani was set up in 2018 by Peter Joseph, who held a Michelin star at Tamarind for six years, before leaving to set up the Chelsea-based restaurant just off Sloane Square. The restaurant’s elegance doesn’t stop at the food, as Kahani’s romantic interior boasts a glass wine cellar, semi open kitchen, and a roaring fireplace.

Kahani translates to ‘story’, and through an intimate, sharing style menu the aim for Joseph and his team is to allow customers to continue to build and exchange stories over their shared meal in the restaurant.

The new menu showcases Kahani’s deliciously light Indian cuisine, with brand new small plates ranging from an irresistible soft-shell crunchy crab, served with chetinaad spices, kachumber and yellow tomato chutney to pani puri, filled with deliciously spiced sweet potato and chickpeas.

Those who love their Indian chargrilled meats won’t be disappointed either, with the menu now including a sirloin kebab chargrilled with fresh coriander and curry leaves chutney, lightly spiced with calamansi and royal cumin, and a monkfish dish with Gujarati’s green chutney, crab and barley kichidi.

New curries also include a Jhinga Kalimirch, consisting of delicious tiger prawns smothered in a delicious tomato, curry leaf and black pepper corn curry.

Kahani also has a vegan set menu available for guests, as well as an exceptional range of vegan and vegetarian dishes added to its new main menu. These include a moreish mushroom and cassava cake spiced with cumin, ginger and chilli, and chargrilled red pumpkin chunks, served with a ginger mustard sauce and coconut yoghurt.

Peter Joseph comments: “Our new menu has been designed to reflect Kahani’s true values by using only the finest British ingredients to create light, Indian dishes. My vision is to make Indian fine dining more communal and informal, offering diners the best quality dishes whilst remaining true to my Indian heritage, and the new menu is set to solidify that vision.”

The new menu continues to feature the restaurant’s irresistible and much-loved bottomless brunch offering for those who love Indian food and want to slip it down with delicious prosecco. Featuring an unlimited three course meal for just £43, and for only £19 more prosecco lovers can have as much fizz as they want on top.
