Banh Bao Brothers
cuisinesAsian, Pan-Asian

You will have to band together during your dining experience at Banh Bao Brothers. The restaurant serves food according to the Salo-Salo Filipino tradition, which is all about sharing a feast together. We love this style as good food is always best shared with good people.

Banh Bao Brothers’ restaurant is modern and the cuisine is pan-Asian tapas style; unsurprisingly it mainly consists of Bao. The mushroom bao, braised lamb bao and pork belly bao are our favourites.

Bintang describes itself as a “Pan-Asian fusion legend”, so you can get your hopes up when dining with them! The restaurant has also been around for 25 years, so this veteran definitely know what it’s doing when it comes to cooking up Filipino delicacies. These delicacies include a great Silog selection. Silogs are a Filipino breakfast cuisine, but no rule says you can’t tuck in at any time of the day. They usually contain fried rice and egg. They will then be mixed with other ingredients as a Silog variant, like Longsilog – smoked sweet, marinated beef and lamb sausage; Tapsilog – thin cuts of sirloin beef steak; and Bangsilog – marinated fried Milkfish.

Romulo welcomes you to enjoy a culinary adventure filled with wonderful cuisine rich in flavour and heritage. Most of the restaurant’s recipes are family secrets handed down the generations, a prospect that should excite many foodies.

It’s the perfect destination for family gatherings, friendly get-togethers or intimate dining and a much-loved part of the local Kensington community. When it comes to the food, we recommend the Scottish salmon tamarind Sinigang broth, Tito Greg’s beef and oxtail Kare-Kare, and the chargrilled stuffed squid (Rellenong Pusit).

Ramo Ramen is a Filipino-infused Japanese ramen house. It aims to bring tradition and innovation hand-in-hand through its recipes. Speaking of which, you must try the Karaage chicken, miso baked shrimp gyozas or oxtail Kare-Kare ramen.

Ramo Ramen also serves bubble tea, with flavours including peach, lychee, mango, passionfruit or watermelon. Alternatively, you can have milk tea, which is a definite must try. If you’re in the mood for something stronger, there are cocktail options too, including a Calmansi Margarita and Guava Daquiri.

Kamayan describes itself as “the ultimate Filipino feast” and a “unique and one of a kind dining experience”. The menu includes Silogs, rice meals, noodles and Lami. You’ve got lots of great Filipino choices available, but we particularly love the Filipino chicken BBQ, the crispy Pata and the Filipino ice cream.

Special shout to to the two squid options on the menu, too! The Sizzling Pusit is squid cooked in sweet chilli and soya with carrots and peppers served on a sizzling hotplate, while the Adobong Pusit is squid cooked in soya sauce, vinegar and spices.
