Ginesi’s Artisian Gelato is a traditional Italian ice cream parlour located on the south side of Glasgow in the Queens Park area. This iconic ice cream parlour has been serving Glaswegians the delicious scoop for more than 100 years. The ice cream is freshly made daily using only the finest ingredients including Scottish single herd farm milk and cream, and offers both vegan and dairy-free options. The old-school favourite is a classic vanilla cone topped with raspberry sauce. Despite being a modest ice cream shop, it offers a wide range of gelato flavours, including Scottish Butter Tablet, Salted Caramel Pretzels, Turkish Delight and Oreo cookies and cream.

If you struggle to choose a flavour of ice cream or want to choose something outside of the box, then be sure to pay a visit to Deesserts. There are a few stores dotted throughout the city including on Sauchiehall Street and one on Byres Road in the west end of the city. Deesserts boasts 30 different flavours of ice cream on its menu. The ice cream sundaes are priced between £7.45 and £7.95 and are fantastically over-the-top creations. The Kinder Bueno is a combination of both Kinder and vanilla ice cream layered and topped with Kinder Bueno pieces, drizzled with Kinder Bueno and topped with milk chocolate sauces and a milk chocolate flake.

If you fancy pretending you are on a beach in Hawaii, then opt for the Tropical Paradise, which is a fusion of banana, coconut and mango ice cream served with fresh strawberries, banana and kiwi slices and topped with a peach and kiwi sauce.

With a store in Bearsden, Great Western Road and a branch ready to open in the Queen’s Park area, Loop & Scoop is a popular dessert bar to visit any time of the year. As well as serving over-the-top milkshakes and churros, Loop & Scoop also offers gelato in a range of many flavours. The gelato is handmade in small batches using the secret Italian recipe, which has been preserved since 1925 with the best local, natural and sustainable ingredients. As the gelato is made fresh each day, flavours differ. However, popular options include honeycomb, Aurora’s bubblegum, mint chocolate chip and Biscoff.

Colpi is the home of legendary, unique Scottish-Italian ice cream and is made every day in the leafy suburb of Milngavie to a 100-year-old traditional Italian recipe. The ice cream is handcrafted using full cream milk from Loch Lomond. The Colpi experience was handed down from father to son since the Italian immigration to Scotland in the 1890s and the original store founder, Rodolfo Colpi first opened in 1928 remains the heart of the Colpi experience. Those with a sweet tooth can expect two scoops for the price of £3 or three scoops for the price of £3.90. Ice cream cones, as well as nougat, oysters and the classic snowball ice are also on offer.
