And we’ve rounded up our favourites. From the freshest seafood to old school Chinese, here’s where you can go to eat as much – or as little – as you like.
Claimed to be the best all you can eat Korean on the Goldie, Korean BBQ is a must visit to satisfy those kimchi cravings.
Okay buckle up for your bulgogi. Obviously there’s a wide range of K-goodies here: loads of meat to cook yourself (ribs, pork belly, spicy chicken), plenty of seafood options (octopus, prawns) and great veggies (why is it that veggies outside the house are way more interesting than the ones in the fridge)?
Of course there are prepared dishes too, like fried noodles, spicy rice cakes, and – drum roll please – chicken wings. Yes, the best way to eat chicken wings is the Korean way. No argument necessary.
Book ahead as it gets crowded and people stay because a Korean BBQ is more than eating, it’s about relaxing. Just try one soju and you’ll understand.

If seafood is your thing, the buffet at Terraces is for you.
Once you settle in, the biggest decision you will have is whether you want oysters, Moreton Bay bugs, prawns, crabs or a little bit of everything?
It’s difficult to find a seafood buffet these days – they used to be everywhere and now they aren’t. Why am I telling you this – it’s a warning: locals flock to Terraces and so it fills up fast. Make sure you book ahead.
Whether you go for the lunch or dinner buffet, enjoy the views over the stunning lagoons at the same time as indulging in some seriously sensational seafood.

The Bazaar offers a different buffet experience. The options for eating come from all over the world so the flavours are truly global. Here’s your chance to try a little of everything.
You might not ever visit a Middle Eastern souk or a Latin American bodega but right in the heart of the Goldie you can sample street food as if you were standing there.
It’s spicy, tasty and the ambience is intimate. What more could you want from a buffet?
And best of all, you can sample the buffet for breakfast or dinner.

Southport Sharks offers a traditional buffet, just like your mum would make, if your mum was a top chef that is.
Here’s where you go for that delicious roast you can’t be bothered cooking, mustard-crusted beef or slow-roasted pork. Who doesn’t love roasted veggies – and the best part is there’s no washing up the pile of pans and dishes afterwards!
If a roast isn’t your thang, dive into pizza and pasta classics like carbonara and mac ‘n cheese, Asian faves such as sticky lemon pepper chicken and coconut rice – your mouth’s watering already, right?
Finish with chocolate mousse, apple crumble or maybe some trifle. Yummmm trifle!
Yep, a home-style meal with all the trimmings. What’s not to love?
Dish Cult’s top pick: Regular dinner buffet, Monday to Thursday (Adult members $34.90; Guests $44.90)
The buffet at Flower Garden is available Friday to Sunday only – so don’t get your days mixed up – because it really hits the spot when you’ve got that craving for Chinese food.
Kick off with an old favourite: chicken and sweet corn soup. Next your tummy needs some dumplings loving – steamed or fried it doesn’t matter. Oh go on, add a spring roll or two. Then it’s time for something more substantial, if you have a hankering for something sweet-ish, go the Mongolian beef or maybe the honey chicken. Add a spoonful of noodles or rice and a wee pile of mixed vegetables.
And that’s just the first trip!
Seriously, the Flower Garden restaurant is an institution. It’s been here for 30 years and that says it all.
