The Cloisters restaurant in Bailbrook House Hotel is the perfect place to experience fine dining in Bath, set in the original basement of Bailbrook Mansion House, the 2 AA Rosette restaurant design takes full advantage of this historic building’s stunning architectural features. All these fine dining establishments tend to have a sample menu, as their menu is ever changing. On their A La Carte sample there’s dishes including wood pigeon with beetroot, blueberry sauce, and game chips. For your main course they have monkfish or sea bass or pave rump of beef. Plus, if you’re a veggie they’ve got options such as pea gnocchi and heritage beetroot risotto. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, their dessert section includes fruity dishes, chocolate mousse, and the classic chocolate fondant, among others (such as a killer cheese board). This award-winning innovative vegan restaurant is in right in the heart of Bath, literally a stones throw from the Roman Baths. Relax and catch up with friends over a glass of wine in one of Bath’s oldest buildings. You’ll be treated to a view of the abbey from their panelled Georgian dining room and a delicious meal. Their five course tasting menu is priced at £47.50 and includes tasty dishes such as radish sorbet with charred cucumber, pickled celery, samphire and pickled mustard seed, everything is perfectly matched with a specially chosen wine. If you’re a certified carnivore, and not really into vegetables, Hudson Steakhouse is the place for you for fine dining in Bath. All their steaks are handpicked by their local butcher and aged for 35 days, they’re served with Bearnaise sauce and a red wine glaze. Although this restaurant is located in a Victorian pub, owner Richard Fenton has turned this place into a very respectable establishment. If you need a bit of iron in your life, but don’t want to splash the cash, go for the early evening special – steak, frites and a glass of wine, only £16.95. Delicious dining out but at a fraction of the price.
