We're quickly approaching one of the biggest food festivals to send Aucklanders and neighbouring foodies into a frenzy.
That’s right, the Fried Chicken Food Festival is returning for 2022! After the postponement of last year’s clucking good festival, we’re so excited to see it booked in for July this year.
Transforming the waterfront Shed 10 venue, the Fried Chicken Festival sets up an Oktoberfest-like dining style with banquets tables surrounded by the very best fried chicken vendors from Auckland – with this year’s line-up topping anything we’ve seen previously. Hosted by the awesome team at The Food Truck Collective (responsible for almost any food truck night you may have been to, it’s a guaranteed 10/10 event).
The ‘real clucking good’ event is one-day only, hosting the likes of
- Gracefully Jerked; bringing their authentic flavours of Jamaican-inspired jerk chicken
- NomNom; offering their southeast Asian-inspired take on fried chicken
- Canteen Bali; with their Balinese sambal fried chicken
- Morepork; serving their New Orleans fried chicken and waffles
- Manila Eats; with their cult favourite Filipino fried chicken
- Carmel Israeli Street Food; offering an Israeli-inspired fried chicken dish
- Temaki Truck; dishing up Japanese Karaage Chicken
You’ll be treated to an international array of the beloved fried chicken dish, experiencing a dozen ways it’s interpreted across the world. Spicy, laden in buttermilk, super crunchy, or inside a dripping burger – whichever way you like it, you’ll find it at the Fried Chicken Festival. To ensure you’re trying as many great dishes as possible, there’ll be a $10 cap on dishes, meaning more bang for your buck across the festival.
Save room for dessert because the legends from Pie Piper will be there serving up slices of their traditional American pies, as well as the team from Ice Cream Social incase you’ve gone for the extra spicy options.
Completing the day will be a rotation of live music to keep the vibes going, refreshing craft beer (no better combo than a beer and fried chicken) and a wine bar from local vendors including The Hunting Lodge, Behemoth Brewing, and Pals,, as well as plenty of activities and entertainment powered by Dr Rudi’s to keep you going all day long.
Tickets to one of Auckland’s most recognisable and popular food festivals are on sale now, grab yours for $15+bf right here, or try your luck at the door sale on the day. The Auckland Fried Chicken Festival will take place on Saturday 30th July at Auckland’s Shed 10 on Quay Street.
