What’s better than going out for a meal with your friends at the weekend? Bringing your dog along of course! Glasgow has a wide range of dog-friendly cafes and restaurants throughout the city, so read on to plan your next dog-friendly date.
The Butterfly, the pig, and the dog? This family-friendly venue is the perfect place to venture with your four-legged friend. Whether you’re in the city centre or the Southside venue, be safe in the knowledge you’ll enjoy tasty grub, a large selection of drinks and cosy interiors – great after a day chasing the ‘”dug” around the park.
Lebowskis started with some hard graft from three super-cool dudes with the vision to surprise and delight in everything they do, so of course we were delighted when we learned they allow dogs in the bar. Take your pooch to the place where the burgers are stellar and the White Russians are the stuff of legend. This place also serves mean hot dogs, but maybe keep that quiet around your pooch eh?
Sister bar of The Left Bank in the West End (which is also dog-friendly FYI), The Bungo can be found in Glasgow’s Southside, sporting a stylish bar and kitchen with a lively personality and relaxed ambiance – an ideal place to chill with your dog.
Did you know this Ashton Lane institution is a dog-friendly venue too? Sit back and enjoy some tasty food while your pooch can relax by your side. The Chip was opened by Ronnie Clydesdale on 11th January 1971, at a time when Scottish cuisine was confined solely to the home. From day one The Chip drew its inspiration from regional Scottish dishes. Aunties, grannies and even folklore were a constant source of influence. 40 years on Ronnie’s faith in the national cuisine has been embraced across the country, and Scottish produce is deservedly acclaimed as some of the best in the world.
Venture out to the thriving heart of Finnieston and you’ll find this venue of the same name. The Finnieston not only serves over 60 of the best gins around, but also offers some exquisite Scottish seafood. Oh, and they are dog-friendly, too! What more could you want?
We know what you’re thinking, a dog in a steak restaurant? These guys must be barking mad! It’s true though, for those calm and composed pups Porter & Rye welcomes dogs with open arms, as if you needed another reason to go.
We couldn’t create a dog-friendly guide in Glasgow and not include WEST. With a fantastic site in the east of Glasgow, facing Glasgow Green, this place is a haven for beer lovers. With a huge beer garden overlooking the park, it’s the ideal place to go after taking your dog out for a stroll.
‘Stravaig’ means ‘to wander’, and we recommend you wander off the beaten path to Stravaigin after a day out with your dog. Some trivia: this place has been awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand several times, so you know you’re in for a treat!
Inn Deep is a quirky pub located on the banks of the River Kelvin only a short distance from Kelvingrove Park, making it an excellent place to take your pooch. Whether you’re looking for a refreshing pint or a delicious sourdough pizza, Inn Deep has outdoor spaces that are dog-friendly. Enjoy your drinks in the iconic tunnel outdoor area, which is specifically for walk ins and is complete with fairy lights and quirky murals.

Indulge in succulent roast beef and spiced haggis quesadillas while enjoying the cosy atmosphere. With its central location and delicious offerings, The Duke’s Umbrella is a must-visit for both food enthusiasts and dog owners alike.
