Cosy restaurants in Glasgow

It’s the shabby chic-ness of The Butterfly and the Pig that makes it so appealing for a cosy evening. With mismatched furniture, vintage wallpaper, and hearty pub grub on offer, you’ll feel at ease instantly. It’s also good to note they do live music almost every day of the week and a cracking pub quiz on Monday.

We were going to keep this one to ourselves but that would just be shell-fish of us. A basement venue with stylish interiors, Gamba is worth a visit for a cosy dinner date. Focusing on Scots-sourced produce these guys are best known for their fresh and tasty seafood. If you’re a seafood fan then this one’s for you.

La Lanterna you’re timeless. A family run Italian restaurant this place has been around for 42 years, and serves delicious food that’s not only traditional but inventive. There’s nothing quite like a nice hearty plate of pasta on a cold day and La Lanterna is certain to warm you up with their dishes.

Are you in NYC? No you’re still in Glasgow, but The Spanish Butcher will leave you thinking otherwise. The Rusk and Rusk team have done a great job creating a chic New York style loft serving top class Galician beef, premium Iberican jamon, and the freshest seafood. The venue is dimly lit and just exudes cool, the ideal venue for a cosy dinner.

We couldn’t do a list of cosy restaurants in Glasgow and leave out Stravaigin. ‘Stravaig’ means ‘to wander’ and you’ll be glad you wandered in your search for a  chilled out evening. This place is informal and serves up inventive dishes which are sure to evoke a culinary wanderlust within you. Here, you can enjoy classic Scottish dishes as well as dishes from Asia and beyond.

It doesn’t get much cosier than this. Head for the pretty lights of Ashton Lane and you’ll soon stumble upon Brel. With a quirky interior, candlelit tables, and a cosy conservatory, Brel is the ideal place for a date night or a team night out with your mates. It’s also useful to know  they do a fondue and raclette night every Tuesday, where you can enjoy a pot of gooey melted Raclette with a basket of crusty bread in these dreamy surroundings.
