To celebrate Diwali, Cassia is offering diners a special seasonal menu, including an exciting gift to take home.
Diwali is one of the biggest Indian festivals celebrated in Auckland, and Cassia is not one to miss out on the celebrations. If you’re unfamiliar, (though we doubt that) Cassia is one of Auckland’s only high-end Indian fusion establishments, with a menu showcasing modern takes on traditional dishes.
The first few things you will notice when you walk into the contemporary restaurant are the numerous light fixtures adorning the ceiling. This is especially fitting for the Diwali festival, which commemorates the triumph of light over dark. Other elements of the beautiful space include an industrial interior, long bar, and a rich mural which nods towards Cassia’s Indian roots.
Cassia’s limited edition menu releases one day after Diwali – from the 25th October until 6th November. While traditionally a vegetarian holiday, Cassia knows how much Kiwi’s love a good lamb chop, so they’re providing customers with the choice of a non-vegetarian alternative as well.
Some of the dishes you should be expecting to make an appearance on both menus are pani puri (ghost chilli and spiced yoghurt fritters), and Dal Makhani- served with asparagus, spinach, and green chilli. If that doesn’t sound enticing enough already, the star of the dessert menu provides a sweet note to finish, serving rabdi ice cream with raspberry, pistachio, and caramelised white chocolate.
Cassia has already made quite the name for themselves since their grand opening in 2014. Sid and Chand Sahrawat have broken into the fine dining scene by blending Indian flavours and spices with New Zealand produce – making Cassia truly one of a kind in Auckland.
Get in now to try out the Diwali menu, which will be a great opportunity to experience what the chefs have to offer. You can book in for the limited time menu now right here!
