Chefs Jamie Randall and Olivia Barry have teamed up to create exciting flavour combinations from locally sourced ingredients. The a la carte menu has dishes such as fermented kale, gnocchi, goats cheese, served with a Burford brown slow cooked egg. The tasting menu has 8 courses of pure delight, and priced at £59 it’s well worth it, get the wine flight to match for an additional £57. If you’re up for an experience, book yourself a seat at the Chef’s table where you’ll have a prime location at the front of the restaurant where you can take in all the buzz and activity of the kitchen.
Harbour is in the name, Harbour & Browns had an idea location overlooking the water on Bristol harbourside. They focus on modern fusion cuisine designed to be shared or eaten individually. The sharing idea is that you order for the table and eat as the American’s do – family style. They’ve got a number of different menus to suit your appetite, including bottomless brunch on Saturday’s. Featuring rose gold accents and marble coloured tables, you can plaster your experience across Insta and it’ll look great. Their roast is known around Bristol for being particularly good, we’d recommend the pork tenderloin, and make sure you enjoy the crackling.
Bristol’s finest floating restaurant is the Glassboat Brasserie, serving delicious French dishes, prepared using the best ingredients, it’s one of our top picks for Bristol harbourside restaurants. On the menu are some interesting dishes you might not get anywhere else, like smoked eel, potato pancake, beetroot, and horseradish. If you’re going all out you need to try the cote de boeuf, bone marrow gratin, with ox cheek sauce, it serves two and costs £60. One thing we would definitely recommend is trying the gratin du jabron (creamy potatoes) with anything you order. Get booking!
If you want somewhere near Bristol harbourside but not right next to the water, you need to go to Pasture. Have a cocktail at the bar before or after your meal where you can enjoy music from local bands and DJs. The team work hard to source incredible ingredients from the South West, they select beef from farms that have been raised on pasture. All steaks are cut fresh for service, so expect good things. Make sure you take a look at the blackboard for the weights of the day of meat and get yourself all the sauces and all the sides. We’re talking dripping chips, mac and cheese, and grilled portobello mushrooms with confit garlic and thyme. Irresistable.
