It used to be Chopper Read’s home but historic Pentridge Prison is now playing host to the Scottish craft beer brand’s first Melbourne location.
After a $3 million redevelopment of the huge site (12,000 square feet!), BrewDog Pentridge has turned the E-Division building at Pentridge Prison in Coburg into a playground for the city’s craft beer lovers.
You’ll not only find an indoor dining room, styled in a way that pays tribute to the site’s history, there’s also a quieter den space, three function areas, and, best of all, a relaxed and sprawling beer garden which will make good use of the summer weather that is surely coming our way soon!
The collab between Europe’s largest craft beer makers and local pub operators Australian Venue Co. (AVC) will feature 20 of BrewDog’s beers on tap including everything from pale ales to imperial stouts. Guest local breweries will also team up with BrewDog and patrons will be able to taste the results in the ‘BrewDog & Friends’ range.
Food-wise, expect a menu that has something for everyone. There’s wings, burgers, pizza and salads, but there’s also heaps of gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options.
And Sydney’s next, with AVC and BrewDog planning to open a second site in South Eveleigh a little later this summer. Bring it on!
