Hospitality has gone above and beyond with entering the traffic light system, and while we’re currently sitting at the red light, gatherings and grazing are green-light-go.
With countless amazing cafés, restaurants and bars around Auckland, we’re spoiled for choice and eager to visit all of our favourite spots. Three venues we can’t resist are The Brit, Jervois Steak House, and Andiamo, all have created outstanding summer menus that will tantalise the taste buds. Kick start the silly season with mouth-watering dishes; they are sure to impress every member of your dining party.
In addition to Andiamo and The Brit’s stellar summer menus, we’re also looking forward to the infamous BBQ Meat Kits from Jervois Steak House; this Christmas hamper is hard to beat.
The Brit is a popular pub located in Britomart that caters to every occasion; after-work beers, weekend catch-ups and watching live games on the big screen. The West Coast whitebait sandwich, on soft Tip Top bread, comes with egg, lemon mayonnaise and a side of shoestring fries – this is the ultimate kiwi classic. If you’re in the mood for a cheeky slice of pizza, the Real Fun Guy is our new go-to; with a rich truffle mascarpone sauce, confit mushrooms, rocket, mozzarella and parmesan. The pizza is perfect for sharing, but we doubt you’d want to; it tastes that good.
Andiamo’s new summer menu makes us ravenous; the Italian eatery has pulled out all of the stops to satisfy every craving. If you have tried any of the iconic nibbles from the menu, you’ll be as excited as we are to try the new dishes. We dream about the creamy burrata with aubergine ‘caponata’, juicy heirloom cherry tomatoes and fresh basil. The next newbie to join the menu is the Hawke’s Bay lamb meatballs with cannellini beans, kale pesto and lemon. The menu explodes with rich summer flavours and fresh seasonal ingredients.
Take your palette on a sun-soaked journey with the agnolotti; with lemon ricotta, fava bean, fresh peas, pine nuts and mint – guaranteed to be a crowd favourite. Pair your meal of choice with a glass of wine (the list is insane), a nice cold beer or a cocktail, and we recommend the goji berry sour; with Hayman’s Slow Gin, Lighthouse, Goji syrup, grapefruit and egg whites – it’s the embodiment of summer. Andiamo is the perfect spot for romantic date nights, indulgent family dinners and food enthusiasts.
